  1. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but going by what my friends have said so far, I soon will. The books are wonderful as well. They have recently been combined into one volume (and in paperback, I think).

    After spending a fair amount of time with Iranians, the themes and tone of Satrapi’s work is resonant with authenticity. In the current political climate, art like this is necessary (I was especially pleased to see that the book had been translated into Greek). Sometimes it’s difficult to recommend due to the mental block that many people have about reading a “comic” (especially in public), yet I think few people could resist being drawn in after a couple of pages...

  2. I am very glad to know that the thoughts and ideas presented there are realistic. Susan and I really enjoyed the film: apart from the funny and sad parts, it gave us a lot of food for thought.

    I completely agree with what you say about art. We seem to live in very weird times...
